The Quarry: Spiritual Successor to ‘Until Dawn’ Coming This Year

There’s truly nothing better than an 80s summer camp mixed with horror, which is why I’m so excited about Supermassive Games‘ newest release dropping this summer. The Quarry takes us to Hackett’s Quarry Summer Camp where 9 counselors go up against some sinister lurking in and around the camp. From the trailer, it seems like that “something sinister” will be weird locals plus a predator of some sort possibly hunting the counselors down.

There’s a lot behind the gameplay. You’ll have the chance to play 9 different characters and build relationships, friendships, and even betrayals among the group. As with Until Dawn, your choices make a difference! One wrong decision and your character will die, with some characters having 10-12 different death options. There will also be different modes of difficulty. One is Movie Mode which allows you to watch the events play out with minimal interference. Additionally, The Quarry will have a multiplayer mode.

Supermassive Games and 2K are also releasing supplemental podcast episodes about the storyline and characters in the game.

The cast for this is absolutely stacked and includes some well-known horror names. David Arquette, Ariel Winter, Miles Robbins. Justice Smith, Skyler Gisondo, Brenda Song, Lance Henriksen, Ted Raimi, and Lin Shaye are just some of the actors we’ll get to see get campy.

The Quarry from Supermassive Games and 2K will be released June 10th on PS4, PS5, XBox One, XBox Series X, and PC. Check out the trailer below!
