Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Bring Their Fandom to ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’

As we turn the corner on another TMNT milestone the franchise powerhouse is stronger than ever spanning multiple generations at this point from it’s comic book roots in the 1980’s. I have passed my action figures down to my own son and still have a strong admiration for the green mutants. When I heard one of my favorite people on the planet, Seth Rogen, was taking on the franchise I was pumped. Now that we have the official trailer it does not disappoint. Long time Rogen writing partner Evan Goldberg is producing the film along side his friend. While Goldberg has no part in the film, Rogen does. He is the voice of the iconic character Bebop. One of my favorites as well. So what is this version of the Turtles going to focus on? Check out the official synopsis below.

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,’ after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

With the release date looming in early August I would have to think we see some sort of presence of Mutant Mayhem at San Diego Comic-Con. It’s to ripe not to promote the film with a panel and an off-site activation. But the WGA strike and pending SGA strike may shut down panels. Time will tell.
