It’s finally time for us to join the animatronic family! Earlier this week Universal Pictures and Blumhouse released the first full-length trailer for the film adaptation of Five Nights At Freddy’s and I’m beyond excited. A full-length FNAF movie has been a long time coming and the cast combined with the Blumhouse backing has many folks’ expectations pretty high.

Like in the game series Five Nights at Freddy’s stars Josh Hutcherson as a nighttime security guard hired to monitor the abandoned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Of course, not all is as it seems and those creepy animatronics he’s been tasked with watching definitely won’t be making his job easy. Starring alongside Hutcherson is Matthew Lillard as William Afton and if you know any Five Nights at Freddy’s lore/plot you know whatever he’s cooking up isn’t good. Additional cast includes Mary Stuart MastersonKat Conner Sterling, Elizabeth Lail, and Piper Rubio.

After being in development hell for so long it’s very exciting seeing footage from this adaptation! And especially knowing that the Jim Henson Creature Shop is handling the evil animatronics, I feel like we’re in good hands. Behind the camera is Emma Tammi directing with a script by herself,  Scott Cawthon, and Seth Cuddeback. Jason Blum is producing along with Scott Cawthorn.

Check out the trailer below! You’ll be able to spend Five Nights at Freddy’s when it hits theaters and Peacock on October 27th!
